Most of our clients request that candidates are fluent or at least have a very
good understanding of English.
There are many institutions and centres where you can improve your English
and stand a better chance of being employed here in Ireland.
The quality assurance body for English language teaching in Ireland is the
Advisory Council for English Language Schools (ACELS) which operates under
the remit of the Irish Department of Education and Science and administers
an inspection/recognition scheme leading to recognition by the Department.
A full list of recognised schools and organisations is available on ACELS' website.
You can also apply to do the Test of Interactive English (TIE). An
international EFL exam developed in Ireland by a group of Irish English language professionals. This test examines how good you are at conversing
and understanding English. You will receive a certificate which will be very helpful when looking for work.
Other established providers include MEI~RELSA. MEI~RELSA is an association of 63 high quality English Language Schools, operating language courses in over 120 locations around Ireland. Search for one of their schools here.
All members of MEI~RELSA are recognised and regulated by the Irish Department of Education and Science through ACELS.
